Question - Are you open to the public?

Answer - No, we are not a public facility.  Our animals are all keep in foster homes.

Question - I found a dog (cat, rabbit, etc.).  Can you help me?

 

Answer - We can only accept animals that are "owner surrenders."  If you have found a pet that does not belong to you, please call 311 for local resources.

Question - Can you help me with a turkey, wild bird, raccoon, opossum, deer, etc. that is on my property, under my porch, etc.?

Answer - We can only accept domesticated dogs/puppies or cats/kittens.  Please call 311 for local resources.

Question - I need to surrender my dog (or cat).  Can you help me?

​

Answer - Yes, we can accept owner surrendered dogs/puppies and cats/kittens on a case-by-case basis.  Information we need includes: 1) is your pet spayed/neutered, 2) up-to-date on vaccinations, 3) age, sex, breed, and weight, 4) information on  temperament, are they good with kids, are they good with other dogs or cats and 5) reason why you need to surrender your animal.  A "surrender fee" may be required if veterinary costs or training may be needed prior to adoption.   At this time, we are only able to accept dogs/puppies or cats/kittens.  We are not able to accept pit bulls/pit bull mixes. 

 

Please complete our Owner Surrender Information Form and email to norcalpaws@gmail.com along with pictures and/or videos of your animal and a volunteer will contact you shortly.  Please note that completing this form does not guarantee we will be able to accepted your surrendered animal. Our Rescue will discuss options with you including training, veterinary care or other ways to rehome your animal or even keep your pet.

Question - What animals do you accept as an owner surrender?

Answer - At this time, we can accept dogs, puppies, cats and kittens.  We are not able to accept pit bulls/pit bull mixes.

 

Question - I am interested in fostering.  What do I need to do?

Answer - We always need fosters!  Please complete our Foster Application and email to norcalpaws@gmail.com.  A volunteer will contact you.

 

Question - Do you have volunteer opportunities?

Answer - Yes, we love volunteers!  Please complete a Volunteer Application and email to norcalpaws@gmail.com and a volunteer will contact you.

Question - Do you accept donations?

​

Answer - Yes, we can accept unopened bags of food and canned food, clean dog beds, crates, etc.  Please call or text (916) 582-2771 to coordinate drop off.  A tax deductible receipt will be provided to you for your donation.

Question -  I am interested in adopting a pet.  What animals do you have available?

​

Answer - Please check out our page "Adoptable Pets" or Facebook for information on our animals. If you find a pet you are interested in adopting, please complete our Adoption Agreement and email to norcalpaws@gmail.com.  A volunteer or staff member will contact you to discuss your application and schedule a meet & greet.

 

To reserve a puppy or kitten, please complete our Puppy Reservation Form or Kitten Reservation Form and email to norcalpaws@gmail.com.  A deposit may be required which can be paid through our website under "Donate" using PayPal.  We accept other forms of payment including money order/cashier's check, cash, Venmo or Zelle and at times a personal check.  Please contact us at norcalpaws@gmail.com if you have any questions regarding adoption fees.

Question - What if you do not have the animal I am looking for, can you still help me?

Answer - Please visit Hearts for Paws or Resilient Dog Rescue or Rancho Cordova Whisker Warriors or Miranda's Rescue for available animals.

DREAMS has been dedicated to saving seniors out of central valley shelters since 1998. Some seniors reaching us before getting to shelters when their owner passes away, or if senior & found on streets as stray. SO far DREAMS has been keeping things small due to limited income. With so many seniors in need after 15 years of being a private sanctuary we have started working on non profit status in California. Where when money permits we can rescue many senior or disabled animals in need. We are striving to be a hospice sanctuary for critical seniors in their last months. We have around 40 acres in the foothills of central California where our home sanctuary is located. We are a no cage, roam free home where the seniors are only crated when I am away in town a few hours, when needed.
